This show was the funniest show on tv during the mid 2000's. Huge names in the industry featured on the show as well, celebs like Common, Saul Williams, Katt Williams, Malik Yoba and Tricky had major roles on the show. Kanye West even mentioned Girlfriends on his music video, "Workout Plan, " with a cameo from lead actress, Tracee Ellis Ross.
Apart from the shows huge success, the storylines were interesting, witty and hilarious! It was also innovative in its depiction of a Black Republican man being friends with a group of professional Black Women. This show truly showed us a side of society that we were unaware of. I believe for the sake of showing our kids and future kids what Black Excellence is all about we need to start using our voices to change what we want to see.
