The extremely cruel method of Halal meat production involves the killing of Cattle, Sheep, Goats & Poultry, without pre-stunning, the animal's throat must be cut by a sharp knife severing the carotid artery, jugular vein and windpipe in a single swipe. The Blood must then be drained out of the carcass. Vets say unstunned cattle take about 20 seconds (but up to 2 minutes) to lose consciousness, sheep six or seven seconds (but up to 20) and poultry seven or eight seconds, but all these times can be far longer.
