In Opposition of Proposal to Build New 3-story 20k sq ft Building in Downtown Greenwich

There is a proposal to build a new 3-story (40 ft) 20,000 square foot facility at 226 & 130 Mason Street and 16 Havemeyer Place (the current Armory and extending to the current open parking lot on the corner of Mason and Havemeyer). The facility is slated to be used as a multi purpose structure offering activities seven (7) days a week in addition to it serving as an open reception hall for religious services and celebrations.

Our strong concern with such a development is the safety of the community because such an enormous development will inevitably bring additional and voluminous vehicle traffic to our neighborhood, which is an already extremely congested area of town. In our opinion, this is not the appropriate area for such a large complex to be built.

We need your help!! Please help in spreading the word and attend the Planning and Zoning meeting.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE** THE APPLICANT REQUESTED AN EXTENSION. P&Z WILL NOT DISCUSS ON 9/27/2018. PLEASE CHECK P&Z WEBSITE FOR UPDATES.

Update #25 years ago
To preserve the historic armory in its entirety and voice concern regarding congestion in the area, it was suggested we each write concise letters (2-3 sentences) to Planning and Zoning in opposition of this project and your reasons for such. P&Z is tracking all letters as part of the file. Your support and efforts are much appreciated!
