Some Monster Hung This Turtle by Its Own Intestines

Busselton is a midsized beach town in Western Australia with a big problem — animal cruelty. For three years in a row, the city was named as one of the area's worst locations for animal cruelty complaints including ill-treatment, abandonment and causing unnecessary harm.

They don't seem to be able to escape the unwanted title, as earlier this month, yet another case of animal cruelty came to light.

17-year-old Ned McMinigal, was on his way home when he saw a horrific site — a turtle hanging from a metal post by its own intestines.

McMinigal told authorities that it looked as is the turtle had been injured around its abdomen area, where its shell was cracked and insides ripped out. The same insides some animal used to hang the suffering turtle.

Busselton isn't the only city in Western Australia dealing with these horrific animal deaths. After a series of animals were brutally killed or maimed in the state earlier this year, many in Western Australia wondered who is to blame and when will they be caught. According to local reports a pelican was stabbed, other turtles have been hung up, and a seagull was left injured with a wooden skewer in its head.

This violence against helpless animals must be stopped and Western Australian officials must continue the search for those responsible. Otherwise, these horrible acts will continue.

Please sign the petition and ask Busselton Police and Department of Biodiversity, Conservation, and Attractions to form a task force to solve these disgusting crimes. Sign the petition and help fight animal cruelty.
