Support Canada's Vaccination Mandate for Essential Workers!

Vaccination is an essential public health care measure that prevents critical overload of our health care system during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Public Health Agency of Canada's Jan 15th vaccine requirements state that all Canadian cross-border essential workers must show proof of vaccination to avoid quarantine at a port of entry. The United States has a corresponding mandate requiring Canadian essential workers, including truck drivers, to be fully vaccinated when crossing the border.

But a convoy, dubbed "Freedom Rally," of transport trucks is now headed to Ottawa for anti-vaccination rallies. The convoy is organized by Canada Unity, a group that opposes COVID-19-related measures. This vocal minority of anti-vaccination voices should not be allowed to affect our public policy! Sign the petition telling the Canadian government to hold strong on their vaccine mandates!

Canadians broadly support vaccination with 77% of the general public fully vaccinated.

In joint statement released Jan. 25, Transport Minister Omar Alghabra, Labour Minister Seamus O'Regan, Employment Minister Carla Qualtrough and Stephen Laskowski, president of the Canadian Trucking Alliance, said "vaccination, used in combination with preventative public health measures, is the most effective tool to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for Canadians, and to protect public health."

Send a message that this attempt at political intimidation does not reflect Canadian values! Tell the federal government not to back down on its vaccination rule for essential workers like cross-border truckers by signing the petition today!
