"STOP THE REZONING AND PROPOSED AUTOZONE PARTS STORE, NOW!"

ISSUE: TOWN of North Hempstead initiated a Public Hearing on October 10, 2019 in the Propose Application for a rezoning from "residential" to "commercial" of our neighborhood to facilitate an Application from AUTOZONE PARTS to build its auto store at 565 Old Country Road and 20 Longfellow Avenue, Westbury.....the site of Fortunate Furniture Store.
We are never against supporting smart planned development but we are voting NO for these compelling reasons:
1) Insufficient road infrastructure cannot handle dramatic increase in traffic that will occur if the rezoning is permitted. Additionally, streets are narrow and do not allow for turn lanes, limiting traffic flow . An AUTOZONE PARTS STORE is not needed in this neighborhood, considering that there are FOUR(4) others in neighboring towns, about 10 mins. from here!).......East Meadow, Bellrose, Hicksville and Bethpage.

While the Property owner (Fortune Dinette) and the Investor claim to have handed out flyers in regard to their proposal, this was not substiated however, even if this is true, the reality was only to inform of their plans not to engage in dialogue for considering any of the change proposed in regards to the use and size of this property.

Land that is zoned "commercial" (business), is worth significantly less than "residential". A zoning change that substantially change that substantially diminishes your property.

AS OF TODAY NOVEMBER 10, 2019, individual residents/owners are requested to sign this petition in OPPOSITION to this project. We the Neighborhood Watch will meet with the lawyers and on NOVEMBER 19,2019 we will require you to come to the Town Hall in numbers to protest this injustice!!!!!
