Investigate Animal Abuse at Larson Dairy Farm

Larson Dairy Farm was caught red handed. In undercover video taken by an animal rights group, several of their employees were filmed abusing animals.

In the words of the Sun Sentinel. "The video shows cows being kicked, punched and struck with metal bars…..One cow, stuck in one of the narrow stalls, moved its head wildly to avoid the blows."

The violence was so severe that officials arrested one of the workers and issued arrest warrants for the others. It is now believed that the two have even fled the country in fear of law enforcement. Publix, a major buyer of Larson Dairy also suspended orders.

But while the employees, were fired, arrested or forced to flee, nothing has happened to the dairy owners and operators who allowed this type of behavior to take place. In fact, the sheriff, who was so eager to go after the dairy's employees, has said he was close friends with the Larson family and was sure they would not have condoned the abuse by their employees.

But are we going to take the sheriff's word for it? The employees were taught to treat animals this way, and if not taught, they were allowed to do so by the owners and managers who oversaw their daily duties. These cases always end in the lowest ranking employees being punished while management continues to get off scot free. It has to stop.

Please sign the petition and ask the Okeechobee State Attorney's Office to open up an investigation into Larson Dairy itself and find out what who is really responsible for a work culture that condones such egregious animal abuse.
