Support The Mini Trans of Clarkstown

Councilman Donald Franchino has brought a proposal to the Town Supervisor George Hoehmann to eliminate the Mini Trans service for the town of Clarkstown. As of now the board is reviewing this proposal. As a concerned citizen I have started this petition in support of the Mini Trans, which will be submitted to the Town Board of Clarkstown. I ask that you sign this petition and SHARE IT to show support for the mini trans. About the Mini Trans
Mini-Trans operates five routes throughout the Town. All routes converge on the Nanuet Mall, which provides easy access for Town residents and a location for transit riders to transfer to other Min-Trans routes or TOR services.
Door to door transportation for all the Clarkstown Senior Clubs from Monday through Friday.
Transportation to all the local supermarkets from senior citizen complexes with carry-in bag service.
Rides from the senior complexes to the monthly senior dance socials organized by the Town of Clarkstown Recreation and Parks Department
Their are approximately 400 passengers per day on fixed routes
The town does not purchase the buses as they are acquired through grants as the old county buses are refurbished for use.
The mini trans is granted an annual 450,000 in annual funding
There are currently 6 FT and 17 PT employees
This service transports children from camps to pools
This service provides day trips for various camps
Mini trans provides emergency services is assisting in evacuations if needed
This service provides transport for various events and day excursions for town business.
