Please Release Darrell Richardson

Darrell Richardson is a 45-year-old African American Male admitted to Coalinga State Hospital on 07/11/2006. Darrell%u2019s life was physically and verbally abused by his mother. He was molested by a cousin at the age of 8. Darrell%u2019s father was not married to his mother when he was conceived. Darrell%u2019s mother would never tell him who his father was now she has passed on so he will never know just who his father was.

Darrell was first incarcerated at age 12 for a burglary. As a youth he was convicted of burglary and petty theft, possession of marijuana, burglary (three times), Auto theft and burglary. He committed his first rape in April 1980 and received six months in juvenile hall. One week after being discharged, he committed another rape and was given six years in prison. He was re-paroled in 1986 and 13 days later raped again, receiving 22 years in prison. He has been in the community only 20 days out of the last 27 years.

Any trauma that Darrell experienced in his early developmental years, including the absence of his biological father, multiple step-fathers, early introduction to substance abuse with regard to his family%u2019s abuse, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse, feelings of isolation, rejection, and an overall lack of attachment and support from his family. In addition, Darrell experienced a severe head injury at age 3 which may have lowered his ability to process information, delay gratification, and consider consequences. Darrell was enraged at his mother for beating him and humiliating him. She had beaten him just before his first offense. When he told her about the molesting that his cousin did to him, she would not talk about it and if he was to say anything to her about getting his cousin arrested for what he did she would get very angry and would beat him for that. So all these years Darrell has never had a life.

Now that he is in this hospital he has learned by his mistakes, angry, and his brick wall that he wants to take down. Darrell is ready now to come out and live in the community, and he also wants to work with sex-offenders that he can help turn their way of thinking into a positive way to do what is right in their lives.

Darrell met Cheryl L. Onstad over the phone where they have talked for hours on how his life had been and how it is now. Even Cheryl got to talk with him on how she was a victim and how she feels now. They both are now working hard on Roger & Cheryl%u2019s Healing Foundation. Now Darrell can hold his head high and do what he needs to do to help others (victims & offenders). He has God in his heart and soul.

Darrell%u2019s own words: %u201CI personally have benefited in my own recovery and this is my prayer that when you see this that you will want to know more of my history and how I can help you in your healing and recovery.%u201D (you will find these words in the web site www.RogerCherylHealingFoundation.com) Now that you have read about me and my history I hope that you agree to my release so that other men have an opportunity for recovery and healing. Please stand with me.
