Stop hurdles in horse racing and the use of whips

I know we will never stop horse racing completely because there's too much money in it. But the biggest cause of injuries and death in horse racing is the jumping of hurdles and pushing the horses past their limits. So in signing this petition you will be contributing to banning the use of whips in horse racing, why whip them when they physically can't go any faster. And you will also be helping to stop the jumping of hurdles to lessen the risk of horses breaking their legs as they land (and other injuries sustained from jumping). This is NOT a sport.
