Tell Rockland PD To Enforce Drinking and Driving

Recently Maine has experienced a slew of drunk driving accidents, DUI's, and unnecessary deaths. Rockland has experienced quite a few in the past year alone. A lot of this is due to the fact that the local bars continue to service visibly intoxicated customers, instead of dealing with the situation appropriately. Both the Rockland PD and local bars should be working together to enforce the no drinking and driving policy. They must report individuals to police they suspect are intoxicated and plan on driving. They should stop servicing customers to the point of intoxication, and call cabs for customers who clearly can't make it home. The Rockland PD visits these bars on the regular and are witnesses to these very intoxicated individuals but never pursue any warnings against these bars for their "overservice". This is a small close knit community, and it is very easy to put a person's life in danger when you are driving under the influence. I am concerned for my daughter and my family, as this kind of thing should be taken very seriously. Please join me in making a difference in our community and sign my petition to make our voices be heard! I will be bringing this to the town hall and submitting a formal complaint using your signatures to make them understand just how important this issue is. Your voices will bring us further to strengthening our community, and making it a safer place for our children.
