The Throgs Neck Animal Hospital located at 3800 East Tremont Ave, The Bronx, has been committing horrible acts against animals, by misinforming clients and misdiagnosing animals. Cases of such abuses have recently emerged, particularly with animals given an unknown injection, or "pep me up", as it is called by one veterinary practitioner, Andrew Manesis; clients walked away with sedated animals that were never to wake the following day as a result of this death elixir.
Those unaware of Manesis, one of the veterinarians at Throgs Neck Animal Hospital, should read an article that appeared in ABC News in 2012, exposing this cruel individual for the illegal dumping of animals in Westchester County despite the fact that the facility received funding to properly dispose of them. Just last week, he injected the death elixir into a cat named Kittonalina, a one year old cat belonging to Bronx native Robert Giuffre, bringing her to her sudden and unfortunate death the very next day.
Countless stories are now surfacing about the malpractice of animals at this facility, and its victims are standing up against the abuses and pain inflicted upon them and their pets.
Please sign this petition to help stop Throgs Neck Animal Hospital from endangering animals and further abuses in our community by closing this facility.
Dear Honorables:
Congressman Joseph Crowley
Senator Jeffrey Klein
Councilman James Vacca
Assemblyman Michael Benedetto
We wish to speak up against the abusive practices at Throgs Neck Animal Hospital that have led to the deaths of animals treated at this facility. We understand the importance of having facilities in the community that serve and protect the welfare of animals, and this facility has brought shame to the Bronx given its negligence to the animals they treat, administer poisonous injections, wrongly prescribed medications to the animals, and mistreated pet owners.
The safety of animals is critical, and we will not accept a facility in our community that instead endangers them. We demand an investigation of this facility, the board certifications of its staff, their licenses, as well as the facility's violations and fines where applicable. We ask that this information be made publicly available to the community.
It is our hope that we can work together to raise the standard in our community to one that respects animal welfare.
Sincerely,
