Hello my name is Ole and on August 10th 2019 my wife Elizabeth and I went to a concert to see her favorite band for her birthday. We have three small children at home so this was our first concert we had ever been to together. After the concert we took an uber home and went inside our home in Northglenn Colorado. We checked on the kids and they were all asleep, but our dog mac( english bull terrier) was trapped in one of the kids rooms accidently all night so we decided to walk him around the block quickly so that he could use the restroom before we went to bed. We were walking north on pecos st away from our home and went to cross pecos st at the crosswalk on 103 and pecos.we were about 3/4 of the way across the road when a car turned the corner and completely took out all three of us. My wife flipped all the way over the car and my dog mac went under the car. I somehow landed on the roof of the car with my back flat on the roof so I was facing the sky and my legs were dangling on the drivers windshield. At that point the driver started to speed up more and started to swerve back and forth across the road yelling out the window and attempting to get me to fall off of his car . The driver went up about 6 streets and took a right and then turned off into a neighborhood. At this point in my mind I thought he had allready killed my wife and my dog and I thought he was going to kill me. There was a Male driving the car and a female in the passenger seat they started yelling at me to get off of their fucking car and that they had allready killed my dog . At that point I started kicking out his windshield( as my legs were allready dangling on the windshield) . I put my heels directly through the windshield then got off and ran as fast as I could so I could see if my wife or dog had survived. I found my wife running up the street and when we made it to our house somehow our dog had ran home and he was on the front porch bleeding all over the place waiting for us. He dislocated both of his hips and his jaw and broke most of his teeth out. We called the police immediately but when they showed up they said that since we didnt have a license plate number there was nothing that they could do and they dropped us off at an emergency vet and that was it. They never took a police report or anything . When we left the vet the next morning my wife's phone and shoes were still in the middle of the road where we got hit so northglenn. Police never even went to go look at the scene of the accident. We started reaching out to news station because we could not get a detective to reach out to us at all . After the news ran the story the police finally reached out to us over a week after anything actually happened and they told us they would look into it. The man responsible ended up turning himself in and admitting it was him, however we never got any justice . The man was only charged with traffic charges and will never see any jail time off of this. Northglenn police department said that they can not prove he had any intent to hurt us there fore they can only charge him with careless driving and failure to report and accident. This man lives in the same neighborhood as us and we are completely traumatized. My wife is scared to leave our home .Our kids cant go in the front yard. It is insane that a man with a complete lack of regard for human life whatsoever can do something like this to a family and a pet and not even receive a slap on the wrist .We are hoping if enough people support this Adam's county district attorneys office will relook at this case and charge this man criminally and put him behind bars before he kills anyone out here . We have since got surgery for mac and we are all recovering physically but we are all emotionally scarred from this incident and want justice. The charges do not fit the crime .The case number is 15cn19004483 with Northglenn police. Andrew paul Duran is the man who was driving. Our total vet Bill's were $3,500.
