End Unnecessary Use of Kitchen Garbage Bags in Seattle.

Our oceans are suffering, now more than ever. We must stand together to combat unnecessary plastic products. We already compost which makes it so that we have no need for plastic to collect moist food items. Food scraps can be discarded in compostable bags if need be. If everyone follows the compost rule there is no need for plastic kitchen garbage bags.

"The proliferation of plastic products in the last 70 years or so has been extraordinary; quite simply we cannot now live without them. We are now producing nearly 300 million tons of plastic every year, half of which is for single use. More than 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year." "Composting takes care of anything wet and icky. We collect all of our food scraps in a metal bucket that we keep near the sink. We used to line it with BioBags (more info on those below), but these days we opt for sheets of old newspaper that can be composted along with the food scraps."
