End Northern Liberties Racism

El Camino Real Restaurant & The Piazza Management thinks large crowds of partying black people are intimidating enough to call the cops for absolutely no reason .

You can thank this business for the imminent end of the Gunners Run Summer Sunday day parties . Cops were called by owners/management on July 5th to shut down a party where there were no fights, no violence or overly loud music . There was just respectful patrons enjoying their day. The reason : their patrons and staff felt afraid and outnumbered .

HOW ? WHY ?

its 2015 are you no longer allowed to party as a black person and or any other ethnic race ?

In the restaurant industry arent the patrons supposed to outnumber their staff ?

For the several years upwardly mobile and multi cultural people have always occupied the northern liberties neighborhood . These human beings either choose to come to visit northern liberties to experience the vast options of hospitality , or to move to the neighborhood because its convenient for work. On several occasions blacks, hispanics and other ethnics have been specificaly targeted and or micro-aggressed into leaving specific restaurants and or businesses because of the color of their skin . With these incidents there has never been written reports of retaliation, violence or abusive behavior . Instead these people have been forced to take there business else where because they have had no choice, or were just so disgusted by the way they were treated that decided to never visit these businesses again . Unfortunately this continues to take place .

One restaurant who is most popular in regards to racially targeting clientele to take business elsewhere is El Camino Real Restaurant. There has been several negative incidents that have taken place and unfortunately have not been recorded because of the fact that racism is a sensitive subject , and many are afraid to speak up because they are afraid of conflict . However we are hoping that this petition would lead to stop this type of behavior and negativity and promote to our community that if you experience any form of racial discrimination of any decree that you document it and report it .

If you go to El Camino's facebook page and check there reviews you will notice quite a few recorded incidents of racial discrimination . There has also been a social media protest where may have used the hashtag #boycottelcamino because of recent discriminative acts . Also there is now a Facebook like page that has been started and titled "BoyCott El Camino" , this page has screen shots and pictures of the racial reviews . Several positive and upstanding people are in support of this movement .

However the biggest promoters for racially targeting clientele is The Owner/Renter of ElCamino - "Owen Kamihira " & The Management Company he pays rent to - Kushner Companies ( which is managed by Ira Boom and owned by Jared Kushner ).

One of the managers of El camino was questioned in regards to the event that took place on sunday july 5th ( one named "Gage" ). When asked why the police were called this was his response :

" Look I called my owner (not the police ) because we were surrounded and intimidated , he is the one who called the police "

Apparently there were 30-40 peaceful black patrons waiting to be served on the evening of sunday july 5th , 2015 Gage called Owen Kamihira and Owen called the police. Owen also on the record has walked over to Gunners Run more than once  and complained that he did not like the crowds that visiting his establishment that "possibly' came from these day parties .

The Piazza Management & Owen Kamihira pushed for this event in which produced tens of thousands of dollars weekly to local businesses to be shut down. This event was shut down by Licenses & Inspections because the hosting venue ( Gunners Run) did not have a Special Assembly License . This venue did not possess this small license in its entire exsistence , and this event was halfway through its 2nd year of production.
