We need access to to go to our Primary Care Centre and the ability to book appointments each day on the phone and advance appointments should also be allowed!
Currently we keep trying for over an hour to get an appointment from 8:15am and when we get through - we are told no appointments are left. You can try tomorrow or after 6pm for next day, but the same thing happens no appointments.
This is affecting us all and that is not good for the elderly or children. It is not good for those with chronic illnesses who need to be checked before repeat prescriptions are given.
Even blood appointments and referral to specialists are being delayed!
The last alternative you are given us to go to accident and emergency department. That is not good advice as this saturates the whole emergency access.
During the main phase of the pandemic in Gibraltar, where there was an increase of Covid19 cases, we understood the need to restrict movement and indoor gatherings; however with the majority of the population having now received vaccinations, as well as lockdown and restrictions being lifted, we feel now is the time to open up the PCC again
We need the different departments accessible like renewing our health cards and repeat prescriptions!
Enough is enough open up our Primary Care!
