PLEASE HELP TO SAVE THE CRAZY GOLF & OLD KIDDIES CORNER ON SOUTH PARADE IN SKEGNESS

The Crazy Golf site on South Parade is the oldest surviving attraction in Skegness having been there since 1922 and employs young people on a seasonal basis. ELDC propose to sell off the Pier Field in the Skegness Foreshore and as a direct result of that sale, they will lose their over flow parking facility and something like £80k per annum in lost parking revenue. As a direct consequence of this, a local and district councillor has proposed to use the Old Kiddies Corner and Crazy Golf site on South Parade as an alternative overflow car park. We already have more than enough car parks in Skegness and we do not need any more. Indeed, there is already the Festival Car Park right behind the South Parade site with a foot bridge that connects the car park to South Parade. The South Parade site should be preserved as an area of open green space on our foreshore that can be used by families for picnics and as a safe area for small children to play. if we cannot retain the Crazy Golf we could use the land to stage tradtional seaside entertaiment like 'Punch & Judy shows. The existing buildings could be used to sell bats, balls, fishing nets, beach balls, sun hats, etc etc, and to sell hot and cold drinks and light snacks. There is already a car par right behind this site. Why do we need another? Please sign this petition to help to try and save this land from being decimated by the Council
