End Wolf Torture in the Northern Rockies!

In April 2011, Congress approved the delisting of wolves from the endangered species lists in five states. By late March of 2012, a total of 534 out of a total 1150 wolves in Montana and Idaho have been killed.

To make matters worse, some trappers have been taking sadistic pleasure in the wolf hunt. Pictures posted to the Trapperman website depict graphic images such as an injured wolf suffering in bloodstained snow with a smiling, proud hunter in the foreground and a closeup of a wolf's paw pinched in a painful metal trap.

When the anti-trapping group Footloose circulated the pictures offsite, members received disturbing death threats.

It is unacceptable to torture any animal for the purpose of sadistic pleasure or Internet fame. Torturing wolves does not help cull the population or protect livestock. Please sign the petition to ban pincher traps and all other hunting practices that physically and emotionally torture wolves.

Pictures posted to the Trapperman website depict graphic images such as an injured wolf suffering in bloodstained snow with a smiling, proud hunter in the foreground and a closeup of a wolf's paw pinched in a painful metal trap. Comments on the Trapperman website congratulate these trappers, encouraging the abuse.

When the anti-trapping group Footloose circulated the pictures offsite, members received a disturbing death threat: “I would like to donate [sic] a gun to your childs [sic] head to make sure you can watch it die slowly so I can have my picture taken with it’s [sic] bleeding dying screaming for mercy body..."

It is unacceptable to torture any animal for the purpose of sadistic pleasure or Internet fame. Torturing wolves does not help cull the population or protect livestock, and only encourages unnecessary cruelty toward other living beings. Please consider a ban on pincher traps and all other hunting practices that physically and emotionally torture wolves. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
