Please sign and share this petition worldwide in an effort to protect former circus cats from getting into the wrong hands by selling them to private owners and often times, drug lords throughout Mexico. Now that Mexico City is no longer engaging cats in their circuses, many of them are being sold and auctioned off to the highest bigger, which could also include the drug cartel.
Seven Siberian tigers are up for auction that could lead the animals into the wrong hands, which could include someone in the drug cartel if the price is right. Since these animals are banned from the circus scene, the big cats have been up for sale, with private owners like criminals and drug lords or anyone showing interest in the animals. If not sold, some of the animals would be killed. This is a grim outlook for these animals that did not choose the circus life to begin with.
The full story on selling these big cats can be found at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3040215/From-Big-Big-Boss-Mexican-circuses-forced-sell-tigers-5-000-wealthy-drug-lords-performing-animal-ban.html An animal rights group in Mexico, known as the AnimaNaturalis, along with the Green Party in the country has been working to urge the government to ban animal abuse and cruelty for years. Their work included heading up educational campaigns, demonstrations and political lobbying to increase awareness of how animals are treated in Mexico. In the light of these attempts to sell these big cats, they too are leading the campaign against the sale of these big cats.
We are asking that these poor animals not be sold but instead be placed into respectable, safe sanctuaries to get the proper care they need for the rest of their lives. Please help us to protect these large cats, rescue them from the circus and ensure they go to a facility that has their best interest at heart rather than have them be sold to irresponsible owners that could and would continue to abuse them. Be a voice for these big cats by signing and sharing this petition worldwide, saving them from getting into the wrong hands.
Congress of the Union or Mexican Parliament – We ask that you work closely with the animal activists group, the AnimaNaturalis and ban the private sale of all the former circus big cats. Do not allow them to get into the hands of private owners, possible criminals, abusers and drug cartel. Ban these sales and instead have the tigers placed in respectable, safe and proper sanctuaries that will give the animals all the care they need in a more natural type of environment. Do not let them face further abuse and cage confinement!
