BUILD A SAFE ENCLOSED DOG PARK- UK.

Unlike the United States, England lacks safe, fun and enclosed areas for dog owners to socialize and exercise their four legged friends. Dog owners want an area where there is no risk of their dog running off if they are in the process of training their puppy recall and want a place where it is safe to let their dog off the lead and socialize with other dogs in a secure environment (socialization is a critical section in dog training and dog parks provide the opportunity to allow your dog to meet other dogs and learn the fundamental skill of establishing an understanding of their own species behavior. It also brings like minded dog owners together and establishes a community that can come forward with their own ideas.

Ideally, the proposed dog parks would have a section with an agility course that members of the public are free to use, floodlights also, just because the days are drawing in in the colder months doesn't mean dogs don't get walked. Floodlights in the park will provide a safe and well lit area so that canines are still getting adequate exercise but giving owners peace of mind that they can still see their well beloved animal.

CCTV would also be a great idea; not all dogs are friendly and sadly there are some sadistic people out there that will set their dog on other people's just for the sake of it, having CCTV installed with not only deter these people but also deter the use of drugs and alcohol in this area. If there was any form of illegal or aggressive incidents the police and relative authorities will have video evidence of the matter. Another benefit of CCTV; dog fouler's can be caught and fined as appropriate (The Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The purpose of the Act was to create a criminal offence if a dog defecates at any time on designated land and a person who is in charge of the dog at that time fails to remove the faeces from the land forthwith.)

I along with other dog owners I have spoken to would love dog parks to be built around the U.K as we are a nation filled with dog lovers and unless you can afford to fork out the money; you are unable to take your dog to a area designed for dogs with an agility course which is growing in popularity amoungst the canine community.

So please, if you, a family member have a close friend with a canine pal; please take a few minutes of your time to sign this petition and let's get some dog parks popping up around the U.K.
