March of this year, the Minneapolis Park Board Commissioners approved a community developed plan for the North Area parks including a significant redesign of North Commons Park.
To move the concept forward, planning staff is proposing to start a study process with the Board of Commissioners and senior staff to understand the cost and opportunities for the North Commons project.
The proposal will be introduced at the July 17th board Meeting by the planning director for the park board. If accepted by the Board of Commissioners, the North Commons project will be a part of the 2020 legislative bonding request starting in February of next year.
We, the undersigned, strongly support this action and support the North Commons project be included in the Minneapolis Park & Rec Board 2020 legislative bonding request.
