We, the undersigned users of the Botanic Garden, strongly object to the attempt to begin charging fees. Charging a general admission fee to enter the Fort Worth Botanic Garden will exclude underserved and/or low income populations.
We implore the Fort Worth City Council to recognize the historic, cultural, mental and physical health, and botanical values that these gardens represent to generations of the people of Fort Worth. These public gardens must remain just that, public, and freely available to the children and families of Fort Worth, a majority of whom live at or below the poverty income level.
