We wish to bring back home economics because the amount of youth who do not know how to perform basic living skills is staggering. People are impoverished, and often don't know how to use the small amount of money that they do have. Most of these people have jobs and homes and are working to achieve stability for their families. If we bring back home economics class we want to bring it back for teens and adults so that in the future, people can manage themselves and their families. However, we do not want to just focus on money. We also want to focus on how when teenagers go off to college, a lot of them do not know how to do their laundry, cook a simple meal, do their taxes, do the dishes, clean their apartments/dorms/houses. They have trouble budgeting their lives, saving money, and shopping smart. These are all problems that can be eliminated by home economics being taught in high schools.
