No To Rezoning of Agricultural Land at 131st & Harvard

A developer is requesting rezoning from Agricultural to Residential RS-2 (more like RS-3 as per the planning commission) for the plot of land on the Northwest corner of 131st and Harvard. Phase 1 of the proposed developement would include 95 homes. We are OPPOSED to the rezoning for the following reasons:

I oppose this neighborhood because it will hurt the value of my home

I oppose this neighborhood because the streets cannot support the additional traffic

I oppose this neighborhood because it will displace a great deal of wildlife

I oppose this neighborhood because many of us moved to this area due to the green space

(I am signing as a resident of Jenks (or bordering Jenks))

Update #14 years ago

We had all hoped and prayed that the new City Council would stand up for the citizens. Unfortunately, our voice doesn’t matter. Neither does the lives of wildlife. Neither does our safety. Only developers matter. And they all have connections. They will never change. We even recommended that they work with conservation groups to fund the land because maintaining healthy habitat is vital for our future. No longer a proud resident of Jenks. Thank you to all who signed. WE did the right thing.
