Hurricane Michael victims are still in the recovery process with many still rebuilding homes here in Florida and struggling to provide. The Electric Companies such as WFEC and many others have received from FEMA reimbursements one totaling $24,098,893 million and another from FEMA totaling $1,204,944. The electric company is now forcing it's customers to pay a Hurricane Michael Recovery fee from $8-$30 each billing cycle and have also raised their rates on customers to last five years. WFEC acquired a line of credit from the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Company Corporation which has been obtaining interests charges monthly while they waited for reimbursements from FEMA and now they are forcing customers to pay it! The victims it's not their faults a natural disaster occurred but electrical companies know the Hurricane season and have time to prep and it should never result in the action of affecting your customers so negatively because of their lack of preparedness. It was unanimously approved by the WFEC Board of Trustees without notification to the customers or giving them a chance to vote as a majority on their behalf. They are forcing customers/victims to pay back WFEC interest expenses and debt created by storm restoration costs! Help sign and fight this for the people/victims who are struggling to piece their lives back together and lets get these fees removed from their electric bills!
