" Demand Property Clean up of over grown lots":

The property that runs the back lot areas of residents n Schoolview Drive, Jackson, Ms. 39213 had been kept cleared , including grass , weeds and uprooted trees for approximately 20 plus years by neighborhood landscape company " Mae's Lawn Service.
Within or around the year 2011 or 2012 they were forced to move their company equipment off the lots they had cleared for years after the new owners acquired the land.
Over the last 7 years no one has cleared, cleaned the over grown land. this has caused it to become a refuge for wildlife. There are foxes, family of opossums, bats and with the climate change and warmer summers because of the creek that runs the length of the community we experienced snake infestations. Two residents have even spotted a raccoon the size of a cocker spaniel returning to the wooded area from our community.
While we understand the even today most communities do encroach upon habits that are natures home for them. We are asking that the owners take responsibility for reasonable care and be held accountable for keeping the wildlife at bay by preforming seasonal clearing of property.
Ours community mostly consist of the original home owners or the children of the original home owners who occupy the single family homes. We take great pride and care to keep our neighborhood safe and are asking for the same amount of effort to be placed toward the lots behind our homes.
It is not the city's job nor do we want our tax money spent in the clean up effort , but are asking that the owners of the peoperty do what is right and acceptable. whether a house is there or not it should reflect the level of care and appearance we all place on our property values. Also this area is suspected by a few of us as being a place where thieves can hide and watch our everyday coming and going without being seen. We have seen over the years even school children from Powell Middle School sneak into these woods which are dangerous during school time.
