Fresh out of High School, on July 19, 2005, 19-year-old Army PFC LaVena Johnson was beaten, raped, and shot in the head in her tent in Iraq - merely weeks after her arrival. Evidence shows acid was poured on her genitals and her tent was then set on fire. Yet, amazingly her death was ruled a suicide by Army investigators!
The Johnson family has spent years working with legal and forensic specialists to prove their charge of murder. However, despite gaining the attention and support of U.S. Congress members nothing has changed.
An injustice of this magnitude cannot be ignored any longer.
Demand the Department of Defense reopen LaVena’s case and bring her rapist and murderer(s) to justice!
Dear Secretary Panetta,
The evidence proving that PFC LaVena Johnson was raped and murdered is absolute, yet the Army refuses to investigate further. Please use your influence to see that this heinous crime is not tolerated and bring the guilty to justice!
