Harriet Tubman’s Place on the $20 Bill Is in Jeopardy!

After a hard-fought campaign, the U.S. Treasury Department under President Barack Obama set the ball in motion to have the image of Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill replaced with Harriet Tubman's image.

However, the Trump administration has made it clear that this redesign is NOT happening until at least 2028 – if ever.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin recently announced that he's chosen for  the redesign of the $20 bill to feature 19th century abolitionist leader Harriet Tubman to be delayed for at least ten years. He's prioritizing redesgns for the $10 bill and the $50 bill first for "security reasons".

We worked hard to ensure that the $20 bill would have Harriet Tubman on it and we can't stop now.

Please join us in asking the President and the Department of Treasury not to ignore the more than half a million voters who made their preference known.

It's not all that surprising that the Trump administration would challenge the decision to replace Andrew Jackson with Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. After all, this is an administration that repeatedly devalues people of color and women. And it's well-known that President Trump, the man who stocked his cabinet with white supremacists and publicly defended the KKK and neo-Nazis, admires the slave-owning seventh president Andrew Jackson.

Let's keep fighting back and make sure Harriet Tubman is put on the $20 bill. Please sign and share this petition today.
