Re: Statement in Support of the Everett House Community Healing Center

Dear Mayor Wheeler and Commissioners Eudaly, Fish, Fritz and Hardesty:
This is a petition in support of the Everett House Community Healing Center "Everett House". Those who have signed this petition are neighbors and community members who respectfully request that the City Council approve the requested conditional use review to allow continued operation of the Everett House as a Community Service use.
The Everett House is a treasured asset to so many in the Kerns Neighborhood. For 38 years, the Everett House has provided a space for health and healing for the neighborhood and surrounding community. We support a Council decision that allows the Everett House Community Healing Center to continue to provide the full spectrum of services that the City approved in the 1982 Conditional Use Permit.
As neighbors we appreciate the efforts that the Everett House has made to reduce impacts on the neighborhood. We believe that the intensity and scale of the Everett House is consistent with the residential setting and does not result in significant adverse impacts on the livability of the surrounding neighborhood.
For these reasons, we support a City Council decision that allows for continued operation of the Everett House. Thank you.
