The Drug against Wars

Many people are mislead on what Marijuana is and how it can help those that are ill or suffering from certain diseases. As citizens of Kansas I believe together we can achieve the legalization of medical and recreationial cannabis use in Kansas. About a year ago my mother went missing in the state of Texas one of the largest state in the U.S.A. and if you've had a loved one go missing, or is no longer with you due to death then you know the amount of pain i carry each day suffering from depression and insomnia. Throughout the time frame of my mother not being in my life i can 100% say that cannabis has helped me get through my day to day life. Marijuana can help others suffering the same conditions and many other diseases. Nearly 88,000 people each year have alcohol related deaths, keeping in mind that it is completely legal to walk to your local Liquor store and purchase alcohol, only requiring to be 21yo or older, money, and an I.D. on the other hand there has never been a single death related to marijuana intake, reason being that you would have to smoke up to 238-1,113 Joints in ONE day to overdose on cannabis which we see as close to impossible. Marinol ( A synthetic form of THC) is listed as a Schedule III drug meeting these requirements:
(A) The drug or other substance has a potential for abuse less than the drugs or other substances in schedules I and II.
(B) The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
(C) Abuse of the drug or other substance may lead to moderate or low physical dependence or high psychological dependence.
Listing Marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug meeting these requirements:
(A) The drug or other substance has high potential for abuse.
(B) The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
(C) There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.
( schedule III drugs consisting of Tylenol 3, anabolic steroids, and Testosterone.) yet marijuana is illegal and Marinol a synthetic for of THC is LEGAL.
Legalizing marijuana can save money, reduce harm, create jobs, increase tax revenue and promote consumer safety/security. Ensuring that Marijuana is well regulated by requiring testing for microbes, pesticides, and heavy metals, Pricing the product right, Monitoring our products process, Measuring the results, and Modifying our rules according to our results.
There is so much more about marijuana to learn about and I myself would be more than happy to inform any person that has been mislead about Cannabis or Marijuana so that we can proceed to making our state a better place one step at a time. With Governor Laura Kelly and the help of the citizens of Kansas I believe we can end the great debate of "Should we legalize marijuana". Marijuana has helped others more than others and should no longer be grouped with drugs such as Cocaine and Heroin instead with things such as tobacco or caffeine. Marijuana can substitute many things to better our society and give it the boost that our society deserves.
