Viking’s Forever!!!

It has been brought to our attention that the staff, parents and current students of Del Rio Elementary school, located in the deep valley of Oceanside, CA, have been asked if they would like to change the mascot of the school. This news has touched our souls. As Del Rio Alumni we oppose this change. For many of us, this is where our life long relationships (family) started. We were then and are still proud to be Del Rio Viking’s! We do not find the name offensive and cannot imagine our beloved school having another mascot. Although times change, there is something very valuable about tradition and the pride that it can produce. As alumni we are hoping that our vote counts. We would like the school to keep the Viking mascot.
