Many of us in Grant Park have at least one dog. We all love our furry friends and would like to provide them with a safe place to run, socialize and expand their energy.
Currently, many residents meet on the west side of the activity fields in Grant Park to let their dogs run and play. This has become a regular occurrence on day when the weather allows. However, this area is not fenced-in and many dogs tend to run downhill as they chase each other causing the owners to chase after them. This can be dangerous for the dogs, the owners and other unsuspecting patrons strolling in the park.
I believe that a well planned dog park can provide the community with a place to meet while letting our dogs play in a safe, stress free environment while still preserving our beautiful park.
