Demand for Relocation of Lagoon’s Park Animals

We have been petitioning Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah for years now! Exotic animals are housed in concrete-floored, chain-linked cages with no natural vegetation and with little stimulation. These enclosures do not meet the minimum standards of accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Children on the train ride frequently scream at and throw things at the animals. There have been rumors of animal abuse by park employees. In one alleged incident, an angry train conductor purposely blew hot steam into the face of a brown bear named Tippy. This resulted in second degree facial burns. Lagoon has been cited by the USDA for getting rid of unwanted animals by selling them to slaughter houses and for failing to maintain animal records. USDA inspectors have reported recurrent problems with dirty, disgusting enclosures, untrained employees, failure to provide sick and dying animals with medical care, and repeated animal deaths. I want to do all I can to prevent future neglect and abuse of these animals and remove the animals from Lagoon's premises and relocate them to a sanctuary. Join us on March 31st to boycott Lagoon on its opening day!
