Put an end to puppy mills

I am troubled by the cruelty and lack of concern by so many unlicensed puppy breeding operations. I follow several dog rescue channels and there is an endless stream of abandoned and abused dogs in the shelters. My own visits to the shelters reflect the same. Most unsurprisingly are various breeds of pit bulls. I would like to make more people aware of the issue and most importantly to push for action in Congress to outlaw this practice and to establish very steep fines and severe punishment for those who abuse these animals.
