The state of Maine to secede our Union and join the country of Canada

My associates and I believe that in order to reach a maximum potential for the welfare of our people in this great state of Maine, it is only approriate to secede from the federal government, and join the great country of Canada. Seeing as how Maine is bordered by Canada in the North and the East, it makes sense for us to become the state of Maine, Canada. In order for our eceomny to thrive, we need to isolate ourselves from the federal government, which is currently keeping our state at a unhospitable level, in comparison to our counterparts over seas. Our government that is supposed to "do things for the best interest of our people" is unable to help us out, therefore we must get things fixed on our own.
