Funding Recommendations for 2019-2020 Budget

Hello Supervisor,

I am signing this petition in support of the Coalition of Agencies Serving the Elderly's (CASE) 2019-2020 budget priorities.

These priorities include: supporting wage increases for employees of the Aging and Disability Resource Centers; increasing spaces in Group Vans; supporting an Adult Choir Program throughout San Francisco; Bridging the Digital Divide by connecting200 people at home; and serving an additional 120 people in a Dementia Day Care Programs.

Funding Recommendations for 2019-2020 Budget

 

We the undersigned support the funding priorities determined by CASE member agencies after months of research and discussion between agencies as well as other entities including Senior and Disability Action, the Dignity Fund Coalition and the Budget Justice Coalition.

 

I. Aging and Disability Resource Centers – Staff Retention - $158,000

  • Increase salaries to retain employees who educate seniors and adults with disabilities on access to services.

 

II. Transportation – Group Vans - $600,000

  • Increase group van to safely access day programming.

 

III. Older Adult Choir Program - $234,000

  • Support 12 senior/neighborhood centers in all districts of San Francisco.

 

IV. Technology – Bridging the Digital Divide - $186,000

  • Connect 200 people at home and provide technical support.

V. Dementia Day Care Programs - $350,000

  • Serving 120 participants with moderate to late stage dementia. 

 

CASE also supports the following advocacy requests:

  • Food Security Task Force – funding for additional breakfast and dinner congregate meal sites
  • HESPA – Requested funding for rental subsidies
