Save Lawn Bowling in Alhambra

It has recently come to the Alhambra Bowls Club's attention that the City of Alhambra has decided to use federal funds to replace our greens with tennis courts in order to accommodate the construction of a dual-level parking structure in Almansor Park. ABC has existed as part of the Southwest Division's Central District for 32 years. We are a vibrant, multicultural club that has been active in the tournament circuit and promotion of the sport of bowls. Many of you have bowled in Alhambra, and if not, you have met us on the greens representing our club elsewhere in the Southwest Division. If you would like to save Lawn Bowling in Alhambra through the preservation of our club, or the construction of a new one, please sign this petition.

Dear Mayor Messina and Alhambra City Council Members,

In an effort to save lawn bowling in Alhambra, the Alhambra Bowls Club (ABC) created a petition to inform Alhambra City Officials of the great support ABC has from lawn bowlers across southern California and the country. We have acquired nearly 500 signatures, many of whom added comments of support regarding ABC's relevancy and the benefits of lawn bowling to communities. ABC sincerely hopes that you, Madam Mayor and City Council Members, will take the time to look over the petition and read the comments within. Please save the Alhambra Bowls Club.

Sincerely,

Alhambra Bowls Club Members
