SAY NO TO LOW INCOME SENIOR  (55+) PROJECT
There is currently a zoning amendment before Pontiac City Council when if approved will give Venture the right to proceed with a Low Income Housing Project, adjacent to one of the most highly esteemed communities in Pontiac, known for historic houses that are beautifully maintained.
At the Planning Committee, residents turned up in droves in opposition to the project. The Chair, Mr. Thomas, constantly told those that were making public comments to "stay on topic." That topic was whether or not to redistrict the 10 plus acre property from an R1 to an R4. The opposition was to the project as a whole, and opposition the rezoning of the green space. Any mention of the fact that the Low Income Housing Project was not desired in the neighborhood was "off point". Now this matter comes to City Council. We are confident that City Council will be responsive to the sentiments of the people of Pontiac.
WE DO NOT WANT A LOW INCOME  SENIOR (55+) HOUSING PROJECT IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

It is important that the signers of this petition call City Council President Kermit Williams at 248 758 3017.
Please tell him that you oppose Venture's plan to build the Low Income Project in this community.
Try to communicate with Don Woodward, your councilman. Please Express your opposition to this development.
His contact information is Donald Woodward. 109 RuthAve., Pontiac, MI 48341.

Let's show up at the City Council Meeting as we did for the zoning meeting and sign up for public comments when this item is on the agenda. City Council will Stop The Low Income Project if we make our voices loud and clear.
