California: Please Stop Killing Birds Unnecessarily!!!!

I was watching a video featuring a distraught woman whose chickens had been killed by force in California by workers attempting to stop Newcastle Disease, an avian disease.
Workers in California are attempting to control the disease, if I'm right, by breaking their necks, shooting them with firearms and suffocating them with CO2 gas.
This problem does need to be solved, but killing innocent, healthy birds in these ways is unacceptable. These poor birds suffer and die cruel deaths at the hands of workers attempting to stop this disease, and this is so wrong.
Children lose beloved companions, families are torn apart (companion birds are part of the human families, too, as well as their own bird families), birds are killed cruelly and people are distraught. This all needs to stop right NOW!!!!!
