Trump has claimed he has the unilateral power to re-open the American economy. Fact: he does not.
The 10th Amendment states that if the Constitution doesn't explicitly delegate a power to the federal government, then that power belongs to the states. And reopening a state's economy in a pandemic is not an executive branch power, no matter how many of Trump's business buddies want their workers to die to save their personal fortunes.
Add your name to tell state governors NOT to re-open their economies until health experts (not billionaires) determine it's safe.
Trump could have advocated for steps that would've put us in a better position than we're in today. But for MONTHS, he pretended it was fake, he said it was contained, he wasted precious time and brainwashed half the country into thinking that a public health issue was a partisan political issue, diffusing all responsibility to the states to stop the spread.
Trump is living on another planet if he thinks he's going to rewrite the Constitution to suddenly assume total authority in the aftermath of his own mess.
Tell state governors to maintain stay-at-home mandates until health experts (not businessmen) say it's okay to re-open – add your name!
