Make New Zealand Declare a National Climate Emergency

New Zealand needs to act more seriously and hastily towards fixing our environmental problems before we tackle environmental problems outside of the Realm of New Zealand. A few councils are not enough, we need a nationwide climate emergency.

Our waterways are polluted, our beaches and storm drains are being choked by litter and I believe we need to act quickly or we will be affected with even worse conditions like higher temperatures, extreme weather, sea levels rising and higher prices for simple commodities.

We need to listen to scientists for smarter solutions and civilians and owners to have the resources to put these solutions into practice. This ecologically, and economically will benefit us in the long run with greener practices on how to make houses or mass manufacture products. We have to become a smart carbon neutral (OR carbon negative) country with cleaner products and minimal pollution.

I am 15, nearly 16 years old and I am concerned for my future and for my future children's also I don't want myself and them and their children to grow up in a New Zealand and in an Oceania where the world is a lot more polluted.
