Edwardsville- support the reduction of single-use plastic bags

While single-use plastic bags are recyclable, only 1% are recycled properly and the process is not cost effective. The solution is to bring a reusable bag. We are asking that a small, 10-cent fee be placed on single-use plastic and paper bags at stores over 7000 square feet, and all gas stations and convenient stores in Edwardsville and Glen Carbon in order to encourage shoppers to bring reusable bags instead.

Please sign our petition urging the Edwardsville City Council to support this ordinance.

Bring Your Own Glen-Ed is a grassroots organization made up of members of the Edwardsville and Glen Carbon communities who share a commitment to a healthy and clean environment.
