So there's a stage adaptation of the 2001 movie musical, Moulin Rouge!, that's set to debut in Boston this summer before a potential Broadway run. I myself would really like to prevent this from happening because I hated that film a lot. Throughout the first hour, the editing was so rushed up, I could not find a single shot that lasted more than five seconds long. The movie felt very cartoonish! Plus, I thought the whole idea of incorporating contemporary songs into a period setting literally gave the film an identity crisis. It left me going "Is this suppose to be 1899? Is it 2001?" It was all over the place!
While most people may not hate Moulin Rouge as much as me, there's still a huge group of people that didn't get really get it either. So whichever side you're on (unless you're part of the group of people who LOVES that migraine of a film very passionately), I'd appreciate it very much if you show your support against this upcoming stage adaptation by signing this petition to stop it from happening.
