Rezoning in Southlake off SLB to cause more traffic and accidents.

Re-zoning on Southlake Blvd!! The “Donkey Patch,” located on the southside of SLB (across from Tom Thumb center). Last November we successfully blocked a developer who wanted it rezoned from business to retail that included a drive-through restaurant of some sort. Now he is back and using a loophole in the zoning system to where he splits the land half business and half retail. We need your help!

1)Traffic (especially the morning traffic) at White Chapel and SLB is congested and dangerous. I can’t tell you how many accidents and near accidents I’ve witnessed in just two years living here! Adding retail/restaurants won't help the already congested area.
2) Eastbound would have to go to Shady Oaks Drive and U-turn in order to get to the development. That intersection is not set up properly for U-turns adding potential danger to an already congested area.
3)There are no retail/drive-through restaurants on SLB from Peytonville to Kimball, this development would not adhear to the integrity of the street or the overall continuity.
4. It has been zoned O-1 for over 30 years and it should remain office buildings.
5. The developer did a study for traffic and it would increase approx 900 people daily if the drive through is placed there.
6. Many food establishments have failed in close proximity to this area- Burger Shack, Mamas Pizza, azzeros italian, etc.

Please email or call the town council members and voice your concern over the traffic issues if the zoning changes. Laura Hill, Shahid Shafi, Shawn McCaskill, Chad Patton, Randy Williamson, Johm Huffman, Gary Fawks. 817-748-8016
