Oppose creation of a Special District goverrmental tax authority over our 2 neighborhoods.

Double Taxation: The proposed Twin Mesa Metro District would lead to double taxation for no new services?
Tax Increases: The amount authorized could mean ip to 43 mills or $4,000 increase taxes per taxpayer?
Tolling: The service plan authorizes the proposed district to toll the road that is currently public and maintained by the county?
Eminent Domain: The metro district would have power of eminent domain?
Paving: The metro district could pave the road and the cost would be split over 120 homeowners, rather than across 368,000 taxpayers in Douglas County.
Unrealistic Budget: Their budget is not grounded in the reality of costs to grate, plow and maintain the road and an unrealistically low budget could lead to an assessment of additional costs against homeowners?
Liens: The metro district could lien your property for unpaid taxes or assessments?
Power to Foreclose: The metro district would have the power to foreclosure on homes for unpaid taxes or assessments?
No new services: The extra taxation is for no new services other than to provide a gate and created a gated community to close off a public road?
