Last year, Galston resident James Kay was given no prison time after being found guilty of having indecent images of children. This week, Robert Davidson, who lives in the same street, has been found guilty of having 1,359 indecent images on his phone - 176 of which were in the most severe category.
It is clear that lenient sentences given to child sex offenders are not serving as a deterrent to others. Robert Davidson must be sentenced to the full extent of the law. Prison time will not only show that we take child pornography offences seriously but will also make our local children safer by preventing known paedophiles from coming near them.
It has transpired that there is now another monster living in Castleview Avenue Galston who has been obtaining indecent images of children, some as young as two years old.
There's too many young kids in this street / area to have two convicted child sex offenders living in the same street, let alone cul-de-sac.
