Recent footage filmed by a concerned tourist at  in Thailand shows an exhausted baby elephant collapsing while chained to its mother as she carries two adult tourists on her back during an elephant procession. As temperatures approached 40C, the poor baby rolled on the ground in fear, dehydration, and exhaustion. There was no water in sight.

It has been reported that there are many more baby elephants tied to their mothers while they are forced to give rides to tourists under the blistering heat of the sun at Nong Nooch.

Nong Nooch has a histroy of elephant abuse and cruelty. Fah Jeam is a wild-born baby elephant found injured by the DNP three years ago in the jungle. Instead of sending her to a sanctuary, she was given to the circus show at Nong Nooch Garden. Even though she never fully recovered from her injuries, she was put through the phajaan/crush and forced to perform for human entertainment.

Nong Nooch routinely dresses up elephants in ridiculous costumes and forces them to parade, ride bikes and perform. The only way to make these poor creatures do these tricks is by hurting them with bull-hooks.

A 2017 study carried out by World Animal Protection, found that more than three quarters of the 3,000 captive elephants in Southeast Asia are living in "severely cruel" conditions. Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens is no exception, despite their claims that all of their elephants are treated well.

Sign this petition to demand that Thai authorities shut down the elephant attractions at Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens and send the elephants to a sanctuary. We cannot let another baby elephant suffer for human entertainment.
Please also pledge not to participate in any type of abuse, cruelty and suffering of animals in the tourism industry.
