Animal abuse happens everywhere. Some states have strong laws to prevent this; but North Dakota is not one of them.
North Dakota does not...
-require you to provide adequate care for your animal (food, water, veterinary care, etc.)
-have laws to prevent abusers from buying another animal
-have strict enough laws to stop abuse from happening
North Dakota is ranked at 47th out of 50 in the United States for the weakest animal abuse laws in the nation, and we need to change this.
We need to create a law preventing abusers from adopting another animal, a charge against them, and a strike on their permanent record.
