End the TV fees at Melbourne’s public hospitals

Recently attending someone in hospital I was shocked to see that vulnerable patients at Melbourne’s public hospitals are being charged up to $77 a week to watch television. Rental companies are pocketing the profits with blatant profiteering. When you pay the fees, you are not gaining any streaming services but only the free to air stations and this is despicable! Patients who need a distraction from their daily pain or mundane surroundings have to fork out exorbitant fees to private entertainment service (PES) just to play standard "free to air" television channels. Then you may not get clear pictures from faulty tuning or the TV is broken and unable to work correctly. Think about it...to stream Stan, or Netflix for a month it's approximately $10 per month, or if Foxtel that would get you a premium package and yet these greedy companies are praying of those in need when they deserve compassion!
