Don't Tax Medical Marijuana in California.

Whereas marijuana used for medical purposes was made legal in California in 1996,

and whereas marijuana used for recreational purposes was made legal in California in 2016,

and whereas both types of marijuana are subject to a %15 cannabis excise tax,

and whereas said tax makes it more difficult for low-income patients to afford it when they need it,

therefore, we the undersigned, hereby request that the California Legislature pass a law that makes marijuana meant for medical purposes exempt from the state tax on marijuana so that patients that need it are able to afford it.
